Planning Applications
Huntingdon Town Council are a consultee for planning applications, but decisions are made by Huntingdonshire District Council, who are the planning authority.
- Planning applications received by Huntingdon Town Council are circulated to all Members for comment.
- Members may comment on any application, but will prioritise considering applications that fall within their ward.
- Residents can raise any concerns with their ward Councillors, but it is advised that if they wish to comment on an application, they do this directly with Huntingdonshire District Council, via their planning portal.
- Members’ comments will be compiled by Officers and submitted to Huntingdonshie DIstrict Council.
- Any large scale or potentially controversial applications will be considered at a meeting of the Planning Committee.
- If Members feel any other applications warrant additional discussion, a request is submitted to the Office to call a Planning Sub Committee meeting. A time limit will be given for requesting a meeting to give enough time for a meeting to be called before the application’s deadline for comments.
